Tasmanian Polar Network - Who are we?
Over 200 years of direct association with Antarctica has seen the development
of specialist cold climate expertise in Tasmania.
This rich polar history and position as a support base for Antarctic expeditions has
attracted a diverse polar community of scientists, researchers and expedition support
personnel from many countries.
To provide access to this wide range of Antarctic expertise the Tasmanian
Antarctic community organised itself into the Tasmanian Polar Network (TPN).
The TPN is the pre-eminent supply and support network for the provision of
cold region goods and service expertise which was established in 1993.
TPN members can service expedition requirements, tailor goods and services to meet
specialist needs, and deliver high-quality products primarily suited for use in
Antarctic and Southern Ocean conditions.
